Bodies in Space was the first series Ashley created. It began as figure drawings as she returned to painting, evolving into a tribute to bodies, gravity, and the courage to take up space and expand. Each palette reflects both a season and a moment in Ashley’s life, grounding the work in time and transformation. The pieces, original works on glass and canvas, were commissioned between 2020 and 2021. The series began in Washington, D.C. during the pandemic and concluded in Brooklyn, New York.
